Moroccan midfielder Ismael Saibari became the first African player to score three goals in a single World Cup since Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan in 2010. The 25‑year‑old achieved the milestone with a goal in Morocco’s 4‑2 victory over Haiti at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday night.

Saibari has tallied three goals in the tournament so far, finding the net against Scotland and Brazil as well. His strike against Haiti also made him the first African player to score in each of his team’s three group matches, according to OptaJoe.

The PSV Eindhoven star has been a standout for Morocco and will look to continue his form as the team prepares for the Round of 32.
