AFN Lists 26 Athletes, Including Amusan, Brume, Ashe, for Camping Ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has invited 29 athletes, including Tobi Amusan, Favour Ashe and Ese Brume, to a training camp ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The list of the 29 athletes was posted on the Making of Champions X social media account.

Other athletes named on the list are Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, Kanyisola Ajayi, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Patience Okon‑George, Esther Joseph and Ella Onojuvwevwo.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 2 August.

It will be Scotland’s fourth time hosting the Commonwealth Games, after the 1970 and 1986 editions in Edinburgh and the 2014 Games in Glasgow.

Team Nigeria achieved its best‑ever performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England.

Nigeria finished seventh overall, earning 35 medals—12 gold, nine silver, and 14 bronze—of which all 12 gold medals were won by women.
