On Wednesday, Iran launched attacks on U.S. military bases in Jordan and Bahrain, warning Gulf neighbors that they must prevent the United States and Israel from using their territory to target the Islamic Republic.

According to DAILY POST, the renewed strikes followed U.S. airstrikes on Iranian targets that were carried out after an American helicopter was shot down, a development that disrupted a ceasefire that had been in place since April.

The escalation prompted international calls for restraint as the World Cup approached, a tournament the United States is co‑hosting and in which Iran is competing.

It also called into question U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertion that negotiations for a lasting settlement to end the Middle East conflict were near completion.

DAILY POST reports that the crisis, which began in late February with U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iran, threw the region into turmoil and rattled global markets before the fragile truce was established.

In Bahrain, several loud explosions were reported as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed they had struck a U.S. base there.

Iranian forces also fired long‑range missiles at U.S. targets in Jordan, the Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday.

Jordan’s military reported that it shot down five missiles, with no casualties or material damage, while Bahrain said it intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian aerial attacks.
