The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned the public to be vigilant against fraudulent activities involving the sale of its nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the party emphasized that only official channels are legitimate and that any communication from the National Chairman or the National Working Committee (NWC) must be released through the National Publicity Secretary.
The statement clarified that any message claiming to represent the National Chairman or the NWC, but not issued through the proper channel, is false, unauthorized, and a deliberate lie being spread on social media.
According to the ADC, the authority to sell nomination forms for the offices of President, Governor, Senate, and House of Representatives rests with the National Organising Secretary, while the sale of forms for State House of Assembly seats is managed by the State Party Headquarters.
The party warned that any sale, collection, or purported authorization conducted outside these designated offices breaches both the party constitution and the Electoral Act.
It further noted that the National Chairman and the NWC conduct all party activities in the states exclusively through the recognised State Party Headquarters, and no individual or unauthorised group has the mandate to act beyond this structure.
Members and the public are urged to ignore fraudulent messages, unauthorised agents, and fake directives circulating online. The party stressed that individuals engaging in impersonation or misinformation will be dealt with in accordance with the party constitution and the law.
“The attention of the African Democratic Congress National Headquarters has been drawn to a viral video circulating on social media alleging that the National Chairman, David Mark, passed a message through a fraudulent stakeholder authorising the sale of nomination forms,” the statement said.
“We urge all genuine members to remain focused, law‑abiding, and committed to building a united ADC ahead of 2027,” the statement added.
