Gov Seyi Makinde of Oyo State

The Oyo State Government has extended the curfew, which was imposed on 10 local government areas adjacent to Old Oyo National Park, by an additional 24 hours.
Governor Seyi Makinde approved the extension, as stated in a memo issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
The state government had announced a curfew from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the affected areas on June 23, 2026.
The curfew, originally set to last 48 hours, will now remain in effect until Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The affected local government areas are Oriire Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Ikoyi-Ile; Orelope Local Government Area, headquartered in Igboho; Irepo Local Government Area, headquartered in Kisi; Saki West Local Government Area, headquartered in Saki; Saki East Local Government Area, headquartered in Ago-Amodu; Atisbo Local Government Area, with headquarters in Tede/Ago-Are; Itesiwaju Local Government Area, headquartered in Otu; Iseyin Local Government Area, headquartered in Iseyin; Olorunsogo Local Government Area, headquartered in Igbeti; and Atiba Local Government Area, with its headquarters in Offa-Meta, Oyo.
No further changes to the restrictions have been announced beyond this extension.
