I Won’t Be a Second or Third Wife for Any Man – Eyiyemi Afolayan

Eyiyemi Afolayan, the daughter of celebrated filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, stated that she would never consent to being a second or third wife, pointing to the difficulties commonly associated with polygamous marriages.

In a recent interview with BBC News Yoruba, the actress clarified that her position on polygamy is based on observations of the frequent conflicts and complications that arise in polygamous households, rather than jealousy.

“I can’t be a second or third wife for any man. It is not because I am jealous or anything. Polygamous home comes with a lot of problem,” she said.

The Aníkúlápó actress also discussed her views on relationships and financial responsibility within marriage, emphasizing that she would not enter a partnership with a man who is wholly dependent on her for financial support.
