FIFA Announces Complete Squads for 48 Nations Ahead of the 2026 World Cup

FIFA has released the complete list of 1,248 players who will represent 48 nations at the 2026 World Cup.

The announcement, made on Tuesday, revealed that 891 players will be making their tournament debut, while 357 are returning.

The 2026 World Cup begins on June 11, 2026, and will be staged across Canada, Mexico and the United States.

In a statement, the world football governing body highlighted the “exciting milestones” that lie ahead of the opening match.

“The final squad lists for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ have been published by FIFA, representing one of the tournament’s most exciting milestones with just nine days to go until kick‑off,” the statement read.

“With 48 teams and 1,248 players made available to take to the pitch across 104 matches in Canada, Mexico and the United States, this edition represents a watershed moment for the global game, opening the door to more nations, players and their fans than ever before,” the statement added.
