For the first time in FA Cup history, Manchester City will face Chelsea in the final, with both sides carrying the weight of past Wembley performances into Saturday’s match.

City have appeared in the last two FA Cup finals and lost to Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Manager Pep Guardiola will be keen to avoid a third consecutive defeat in this competition.

Chelsea last played in the FA Cup final in 2017 and 2018. They were defeated by Arsenal in 2017 but won against Manchester United a year later.

Since then, Chelsea have reached six Wembley finals and lost all six.

City enter the game as favourites, riding a strong run of form as they chase a possible domestic treble.

After defeating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, Guardiola’s side remain two points behind the Gunners with two Premier League games left.

They still have a chance to secure the double before the season’s final week.

However, Chelsea should not be underestimated; the club often performs well when viewed as underdogs.

A victory over City could help Chelsea add some brightness to a disappointing campaign.
