Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won a decisive victory at the polling unit of Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele during Saturday’s Ekiti governorship election.
Polling Officer Ms. Elizabeth Oregbemeh announced that Oyebanji received 164 votes.
PDP governorship candidate Dr. Wole Oluyede received 8 votes, while Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate Mr. Ayodeji Ojo secured 1 vote.
Bamidele, who had voted earlier, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election and praised the strong voter turnout across the state.
The Senate leader also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of electoral officials and materials throughout all 16 local government areas.
According to INEC, of 1,059,360 registered voters in Ekiti State, 1,028,929 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards.

APC: 164 votes
PDP: 8 votes
ADP: 1 vote
