DR Congo fan in statue makes World Cup debut during Colombia match.

Michel Kuka Mboladinga, a well‑known supporter of DR Congo, appeared for the first time at the 2026 FIFA World Cup during the Leopards’ Group K match against Colombia, having missed the opening game because of an Ebola‑related quarantine.

Known as “Lumumba Vea”, he is renowned for dressing as and emulating Patrice Lumumba, DR Congo’s first prime minister, standing motionless with his right arm raised during matches.
