Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that the party remains united and dedicated to defending multi‑party democracy, even after the recent Federal High Court ruling that impacted the party.
He shared this in a post on his X account following a meeting with the NDC’s vice‑presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The meeting addressed party concerns and outlined the steps the NDC is taking to tackle the legal challenges stemming from the court’s decision.
“I just met my brother and our Vice Presidential candidate, His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and we discussed matters of mutual interest concerning our party,” Dickson wrote.
He added that both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating in defense of Nigeria’s multi‑party democratic system.
He stated, “We reaffirmed our resolve to stand together in the fight for multi‑party democracy, and I briefed him on the measures the party is taking to correct and redress the distractions caused by the anomalous Federal High Court ruling.”
Expressing confidence in the party’s stance, Dickson added, “We are on course.”
The meeting occurs as the NDC continues to challenge the recent Federal High Court judgment, a case the party intends to pursue through the appellate courts.
