A High Court in Sokoto State has sentenced three men, one of whom is a foreign national, to death by hanging.

The sentence followed their conviction on charges related to terrorism and arms proliferation.

The convicts—Yusuf Muhammad (alias Sallau), a Nigerien, Jabbi Alhaji Yalle, and Kabiru Muhammad—were arrested on 13 June 2025.

They were apprehended by the Department of State Services Counter Terrorism Unit for cross‑border criminal activities involving arms trafficking and terrorism.

Case SS/45c/2026 was heard by Justice Muhammad Nuraddeen Bello of High Court No. 23 in Sokoto.

Justice Bello delivered the judgment:

He found all three defendants guilty as charged and sentenced them to death by hanging.

The court ordered that all monetary exhibits recovered from the convicts be forfeited to the Federal Government.

“The conviction is part of a series of successful prosecutions by the DSS in its ongoing operations against terrorism and organized cross‑border criminal networks across Nigeria,” Justice Bello said.
