The Network of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria, a coalition of civil society groups, praised the conduct of the Saturday Enugu North Senatorial District by‑election, calling it peaceful and transparent.

It also highlighted glitches with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and delays in election logistics.

Chief Ikeje Asogwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election with 162,360 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Nestor Ezeme of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 9,299 votes.

On Monday, the Network’s spokesperson, Abubakar Musa, accompanied by observer group members, told reporters in Enugu that the by‑election represented “a vital step towards transparent election.”
