Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, a former Serie A standout, has said he remains open to a future return to Italy.
The Roma youth graduate has already won the Premier League and is now in a position to compete for the Champions League. Arsenal face Paris Saint‑Germain on Saturday, a match that could see them make history.
In interviews with Italian media about his situation and the upcoming final, Calafiori discussed his future plans.
According to Yahoo Sports, in a conversation with Corriere della Sera via VoceGiallorossa, he explained how his future looks.
He said: “I’m happy here now, but I’ve left some unfinished business with Roma. I barely played for that team when I was very young. I’d like to return. Not right away, but sooner or later.”
The defender was also asked to compare Roma and Arsenal and whether the Giallorossi can replicate the Gunners under Gian Piero Gasperini.

“I don’t know if Roma can become the new Arsenal, but I’m very happy they’ve placed their faith in Gasperini. I’m always rooting for them. I hope they can return to the levels I was used to when I was a kid.”
Roma have qualified for the Champions League. The versatile full‑back expressed his delight for that.
He said: “I’m delighted with what they’ve achieved. I’ve spoken to Mancini, Cristante, and Pellegrini. Some even wrote to me about my birthday, so we’ve connected it all together.”
This is not the first time Calafiori has spoken about his long‑term future. It appears he may return to Italy at some point, but that decision remains far off, as Mikel Arteta sees him as an important squad player at the Emirates.
