Jamaica head coach Rudolph Speid has called up Dante Plunkett to his squad ahead of the Unity Cup final against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Completesports.com reports.
The youngster has received his first-ever call-up to the Jamaica national team.
Plunkett is expected to join the team for Friday’s training session.
The 18-year-old joined Manchester United in 2024 following an impressive trial spell with the club.
The left-back was previously on the books of Aston Villa.
Plunkett made 15 appearances for United’s U-18 side across all competitions in the 2025/26. .
The left-back previously played for another Premier League club Aston Villa.
Speid’s Side Seek Revenge
The Reggae Boyz will face Nigeria in the final of the invitational tournament at the Valley on Saturday night.
Jamaica, and Nigeria battled to a 2-2 draw in the final of the same mini-tournament last year before the Eagles swept to victory 5-4 after penalty shootout to retain the trophy they had won in 2002 and 2004 – the only two times the competition had been held previously.
Speid’s men will be eager to gain revenge for their previous defeats to the Super Eagles when both sides clash in the final.
Jamaica secured their place in the final with a 2-0 win over India, while Nigeria also recorded a 2-0 victory against Zimbabwe’s Warriors.
