Bernardo Silva signs two-year deal with Real Madrid

Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva has signed a two‑year contract with Real Madrid, the La Liga giants announced on Wednesday.

Silva departed Manchester City after nine trophy‑laden seasons when his contract expired at the end of last campaign.

His new deal with Real Madrid will keep him at the club until 30 June 2028.

During his time at City, Silva made 459 appearances and scored 76 goals, having joined from Monaco in 2017.

He collected 15 major trophies with the club, including four consecutive Premier League titles from 2021‑24, the 2023 Champions League treble, and all four domestic trophies in the 2018‑19 season.

Following two seasons without major silverware, newly re‑elected Madrid president Florentino Pérez appointed José Mourinho as head coach earlier in June.

On Monday, Madrid also announced the signing of Spanish left‑back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea for a reported fee of 55 million euros ($63.8 million).
