A group of youths from Ugbokolo in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State organized a rescue operation that reportedly freed several kidnapped individuals and led to the arrest of three suspected kidnappers.

Local reports say the abductions took place on Tuesday along the Ugbokolo–Aokpe Road, a frequently used route for residents and travelers in the area.

After learning of the incident, community members mobilized and conducted a search aimed at locating the victims and their captors.

The operation is said to have successfully rescued the abducted persons and apprehended three individuals believed to be involved in the crime.

One relative of a victim claimed that the suspects were of Fulani origin.

The identities of the rescued victims and the arrested suspects have not yet been released.

This event underscores the continuing security challenges on rural roads in Benue State and highlights the growing role of local communities in addressing safety concerns.

Attempts to verify the incident with DSP Udeme Edet, a spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, were unsuccessful at the time this report was filed.
