Austine backs Rivers United to win NPFL title on final day

Rivers United team manager Festus Austine is confident that his side will secure the 2025‑26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.

The Pride of Rivers will face Katsina United in their final match of the season, which will be played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt next week.

Austine urged supporters to attend in large numbers to help the team win.

"It’s been a difficult week, but I know we will get it right in the game against Katsina United," Austine said ahead of the decisive tie.

"Come to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and cheer us to glory; I know we will be crowned champions," he added.

Rivers United are one point behind league leaders Rangers going into the final matchday.

They must defeat Katsina United and hope Rangers drop points against Ikorodu City to lift the title.
