Madonna, Shakira, and BTS to headline first World Cup final halftime show

Madonna, Shakira and BTS will headline the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show on 19 July 2026 at the New York, New Jersey Stadium.

The 15‑minute performance, styled after the Super Bowl, is produced in partnership with Global Citizen to fight global poverty and promote education.

This event marks a major shift, as FIFA adopts a halftime‑show format similar to the NFL’s Super Bowl for the first time in tournament history.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the show would bring together “music and football on the biggest stage in sport for a very special cause.”

“Every child should have the opportunity to dream, and together we can help make that possible,” he posted on Instagram.
