The Benue State Chairman of the Labour Party, Ochonu William Okefie, has released the comprehensive list of candidates who emerged from the party’s recently concluded primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The list was released by the state chairman after receiving it from the State Organizing Secretary, Sam Ape, and contains the names of candidates for the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, and Benue State House of Assembly elections.
According to the document, Dr. Mathias Terwase Byuan emerged as the Labour Party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 Benue State governorship election.
For the Senate, the party nominated Iyorwuese Ligom for Benue North East Senatorial District (Zone A), Richard Gbamwuan for Benue North West Senatorial District (Zone B), and Dr. Onuh Prince for Benue South Senatorial District (Zone C).
In the House of Representatives category, the party presented Terhemen Gyado for Konshisha/Vandeikya Federal Constituency, Apev John Mson for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, and Anshura Dennis for Logo/Katsina-Ala/Ukum Federal Constituency in Zone A.
For Zone B, Fidelis Audu emerged for Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, Tyopie Gideon Bem for Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, Luper Dim for Gwer/Gwer West Federal Constituency, and Madza Msughter for Buruku Federal Constituency.
In Zone C, the party nominated Hon. Chief Dr. Bishop Philip Agbese for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Blessed Emmanuel Onah for Obi/Oju Federal Constituency, Kenneth Obiabo Ehoche for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, and Adamu Hassan for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency.
The list also contains the names of candidates who emerged for the Benue State House of Assembly elections across the state’s constituencies.
In Zone A, the candidates are Ternege Charity (Tiev), Esther Atema Tsee (Kyan), Tyotsume Msugh (Gaav), Dyako Terhide Sylvester (Konshisha II), Julius Ahobee (Kwande East), Terdoo Apine (Kwande West), Lanshima Joseph Mata (Ushongo), Jacob Aondofa Orya (Mbagwu), Kondom Francis Ivo (Katsina-Ala East), Ibiashina Terkula (Katsina-Ala West), Kaaondo Atuluku (Ukum I), Luper Anakaa (Ukum II), and Agah Titus (Logo).
For Zone B, the candidates are Francis Ikyura (Gboko), Abraham Ngulunga (Gboko West), Apav Terhemen (Buruku I), Akaa Tertseagh Stephen (Buruku II), Aondoaver Lawrence Utshaha (Guma I), Isaac Mbanongun Kwanum (Guma II), Kelvin Ahangba (Makurdi Southwest), Abeen Francis Aernyam (Makurdi Southeast), Lawrence Yange (Makurdi North), Richard Kaakyenge (Gwer West), Vitalis Hwande (Gwer East), and Torouga Charles Vaseer (Tarka).
In Zone C, the candidates are Ojoko Nathaniel Ogaragbo (Ado), Agbo Dominic Oche (Okpokwu), Adakole Peter Okewu (Ogbadibo), Ikpa Isaac Lawrence (Otukpo/Akpa), Nart Jimmy Ogoh (Adoka/Ugboju), Agbo Moses Okopi (Ohimini), Agada David (Obi), Agida Clement Ajiga (Oju I), Odayiko Emmanuel Ikape (Oju II), Idoko Ene Mercy (Apa), and Abu Baba (Agatu).
The successful conclusion of the primaries is seen as a significant step in the Labour Party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, with party leaders expressing confidence in the ability of the candidates to provide quality leadership and effective representation across the state.
The document was signed by Sam Ape, State Organizing Secretary of the Labour Party, Benue State Chapter, and released to the press by the State Chairman, Ochonu William Okefie.
