World Cup 2026: Thierry Henry Names Favorite and Four Other Strong Contenders for the Trophy

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has declared France his favourite team to win the 2026 World Cup.

He praised France’s strength, noting that the side reached the final in the two previous tournaments.

Henry also listed England, Spain, Argentina and Portugal as four other strong contenders.

“I see France as the top contender – partly because I am French, but also because we have reached the last two finals,” Henry told Sports Illustrated.

“We have a strong team. Spain, Argentina, Portugal, and England are also promising candidates. Surprises like Norway or Senegal are possible. For Germany, I’m waiting for them to rediscover their best form.”
