Thugs Assault Itsekiri Youth Protesters at INEC Headquarters During Constituency Delineation Process

On Monday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja experienced a confrontation when a group of attackers, reportedly hired by unidentified individuals, assaulted youths from the Itsekiri community.

The youths were protesting what they called the unfair delineation of the Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State.

Approximately 200 Itsekiri youths gathered at INEC Headquarters, demanding accountability from the Commission.

They displayed placards with slogans such as “INEC must protect indigenous communities,” “Warri Federal Constituency is not for sale,” “Justice for Itsekiri Communities Now,” and “Dollars Cannot Buy Our Land.”
