Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo react to new concerns about actor Hanks Anuku

Nigerian film veterans Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have responded to new concerns about the mental health and well‑being of their colleague Hanks Anuku.

A video that shows Anuku lying on a road in Wuse 2, Abuja, was posted online on Saturday, June 27, 2026. In the clip the actor can be seen talking to himself while holding a disposable cup.

After the video went viral, many netizens expressed worry about his appearance and health, and some suggested that he might have been under the influence of alcohol.

In reaction to the controversy, Arinze and Amilo commented on an Instagram post shared by a popular blog, stating that the footage was old.

Arinze wrote, “This is a very old video oo.”

Amilo added, “PLEASE THIS IS AN OLD VIDEO. STOP SPREADING EVIL NEWS AND WISHES.”
