Hausa praise singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, better known as Rarara, has warned that using Nigeria’s security problems for political gain is irresponsible. He said any opposition politician who builds a campaign around the country’s insecurity is “insane.”

In a viral video, Rarara reacted to Afrobeats star Davido’s appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert. He criticized the display of messages about the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, arguing that such imagery projects a negative image of Nigeria on the world stage.

Rarara maintains that security issues should be handled with caution rather than turned into political talking points or public spectacles. He warned that highlighting ongoing crises before an international audience could undermine Nigeria’s reputation and inadvertently aid criminal groups.

The singer further alleged that Davido’s actions were politically motivated, claiming they were intended to support his uncle’s electoral ambitions while casting the current administration in a negative light. He asserted that no politician or public figure should use insecurity as a campaign strategy.

“Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue,” Rarara said, emphasizing that national security should remain above partisan politics.

He urged public figures and content creators to exercise restraint when discussing sensitive security matters, noting that the public may not always grasp the complexities of ongoing operations by security agencies.

Rarara concluded that while citizens have the right to express concern over national issues, they should do so in ways that do not damage the country’s reputation or complicate efforts to resolve security challenges.
