Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, visited Mrs. Amina Rabe Abubakar, the widow of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, after she was rescued from kidnappers by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Mrs. Abubakar is currently receiving medical care at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina, where the governor made a visit together with the Director General of Media Affairs, Maiwada Dammallam.
Reports say the rescue was carried out after troops engaged the kidnappers in a fierce confrontation, resulting in the successful recovery of the victim during a well‑coordinated military operation.
During the visit, Governor Radda praised the gallantry, professionalism, and dedication of the security forces involved in the operation.
He added that the “successful rescue has further strengthened public confidence in the government’s ongoing efforts, in collaboration with the Armed Forces, to restore peace and security across Katsina State and the wider North‑West region.”
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities that threaten the safety of citizens.
The rescue of Mrs. Abubakar is being hailed as another significant success for Operation FANSAN YAMMA and a testament to the determination of Nigerian security forces to protect lives and combat insecurity across the country.
