Prof. Iwendi Nominated to Serve on the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors for 2026

The Centre of Intelligence of Things (CIoT) at the University of Greater Manchester announced that Professor Celestine Iwendi has been nominated as a candidate for the 2026 IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors election.

In a statement, the university said that Iwendi’s work has earned global recognition and continues to promote responsible artificial intelligence and worldwide research collaboration.

“The Centre of Intelligence of Things, University of Greater Manchester, expressed its delight in celebrating its Head of Centre, Professor Celestine Iwendi, following his nomination for the 2026 IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors election.”

“This nomination represents a significant global acknowledgment and marks an important moment for CIoT, the school, the university, and the broader international research community. Professor Iwendi’s work continues to advance responsible artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, global research collaboration, student development, and technology for humanity.”

“His nomination reflects years of service, leadership, and dedication to strengthening the global computing and engineering community.
