BENIN CITY – Skyewise Group announced that it is considering establishing a vehicle assembly plant in Edo State, citing the supportive environment and favorable policies of the Governor Monday Okpebholo administration.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Elvis Abuyere made the statement during the opening and commissioning of Skyewise Group’s multi‑billion naira office in Benin City, which also marked the company’s 11th anniversary.
Abuyere revealed that the company has invested more than N9 billion in the state’s economy through the new office building, underscoring its commitment to economic development, job creation and youth empowerment.
He described the project as a milestone in the company’s 11‑year history of delivering excellence across various sectors, noting that the new facility has created more than 100 direct jobs in the state capital.
“We have met with the executive government of Edo State to discuss a partnership that would bring a vehicle assembly plant to the state,” Abuyere said. “We will begin assembling vehicles locally, and our partners in China are working to ensure this is established. We believe that instead of importing these vehicles, we should have a plant here, and we are working toward that goal. In no short time, we will begin to see the results.”
He added, “We have invested over N9 billion in Edo State. This project is not just a celebration but a testimony of our commitment to economic growth and development. By employing more than 100 staff in this building alone, we are contributing to job creation and supporting the state’s economy.”
Abuyere also disclosed that through its foundation, the Group has empowered more than 2,000 youths nationwide, providing them with opportunities to promote self‑reliance and productive engagement.
He emphasized the company’s continued focus on building human capital, describing it as a critical driver of national development.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Skyewise Group, Ambassador Usman Sarki, spoke at the event, stating that the company represents both the present and future of enterprise development through strategic investments and community‑focused initiatives.
Sarki praised the Edo State Government for creating an enabling environment that encourages private sector investment.
Following the commissioning, Governor Monday Okpebholo, represented by his deputy Hon. Dennis Idahosa, said the company’s decision to expand its footprint in Edo State reflected growing investor confidence in the state’s economy.
He noted that his administration has taken extensive measures to ensure security in the state, saying, “Your decision to invest in Edo State is a vote of confidence in our people, policies and our economy. Our government is positioning Edo State as a destination for economic growth.”
“Edo State is safe for business,” he added. “We have strengthened community policing by equipping and training the Edo State Security Vigilante Network personnel on global best practices and working hand in hand with federal security agencies.”
