The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu, Ogun State, has halted its 10‑day warning strike after the Ogun State government pledged to pay members’ professional allowance by July 31, 2026.

The decision followed an emergency congress held on Wednesday at the ARD Lounge of OOUTH in Sagamu.

Dr John Omotoso, the association’s president, announced the suspension in a statement released to journalists on Thursday, noting that it came after productive meetings with senior government officials and the Ogun State NMA leadership.

He said the commitment was made during a meeting that included the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Tokunbo Talabi; the Head of Service, Mr Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka; and the Ogun State NMA leadership.
