Frankfurt have long admired the defensive midfielder and have previously made two unsuccessful attempts to sign him.

Onyedika enhanced his reputation in last season’s UEFA Champions League, scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt in Club Brugge’s impressive victory over the German club.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a successful spell in Belgium since joining Club Brugge, helping the club win two Belgian Pro League titles, one Belgian Cup, and one Belgian Super Cup.
