The Kwankwasiyya movement has clarified that Peter Obi was not responsible for oppressing northerners during his tenure as governor.
In an interview with DAILY POST, the movement’s spokesman, Captain Mansur Kurugu, called the allegations “false” and described them as propaganda aimed at the Obi movement.
Kurugu said the opposition is exploiting public ignorance to spread misinformation about the presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
“All these claims that Peter Obi degraded northerners are untrue. The real perpetrators are now with the APC. We witnessed the degradation of northerners in Benue, Oyo, Mile 12. Who do you think spoke out against him?” he added.
He maintained that the opposition’s attempts to discredit the Obi movement are futile, noting that the movement enjoys broad public support.
