Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blankson has accepted full responsibility for the team’s disappointing season.
The Port Harcourt club fell short of winning the 2025‑26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title.
They also missed an opportunity to defend their President’s Federation Cup crown, being knocked out by Robo Queens in the quarter‑finals.
Blankson acknowledged that the squad failed to perform in both competitions.
“Unfortunately I did not end the season well with Rivers Angels,” Blankson said in a media chat. “I take full responsibility for not achieving the right result.”
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism for the 2026‑27 campaign.
“A new chapter is loading, apologies to the fans and people of Rivers State,” he added.
