The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have established a welfare committee for the Super Falcons in preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, reports the DAILY POST.
The committee is tasked with ensuring a smooth campaign for the national team.
Aisha Falode, an executive board member of the NFF, will chair the committee, while Ruth David will act as secretary.
Other members include Rt. Hon. Margaret Icheen, Babagana Kalli, Emeka Iyama, Aderonke Tinuoye, and Tobechukwu Oluchi, a former media officer for the Super Falcons.
In the 2026 WAFCON, Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.
Justine Madugu’s side will open their campaign against debutants Malawi at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Tuesday, 28 July.
The WAFCON 2026 finals will take place in Morocco from 26 July to 16 August 2026.
The four semi‑finalists will earn spots to represent Africa at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
