Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Friday that Israeli forces would remain in Lebanon “as long as necessary,” pledging to impose a “heavy price” on Iran‑backed Hezbollah for its attacks.
Netanyahu said, “Israel will not tolerate attacks on our soldiers or our territory, and it will exact a very heavy price from Hezbollah for these attacks.” He added that Israel would stay in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as needed to protect communities in the north, following the military’s announcement of four Israeli soldiers killed in Lebanon.
Defence Minister Israel Katz echoed the stance, stating that the army would stay in Lebanon and would respond “with considerable force” to any further attacks.
