The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has announced extensions to its ground‑handling agreements with Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines and ASKY, reinforcing its position as a leading provider in the sector.
NAHCO also secured a new contract with FlyGabon, a recent entrant to the Nigerian market, and revealed that it will begin exporting solar cells to the United States.
In a statement, NAHCO said that BGE (Nigeria) Solar FZE started exporting solar cells from Lagos to the United States in January 2026 using NAHCO’s facilities.
The project initially involved scheduled carriers such as Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and DHL, with consignment weights ranging from 20 to 50 tons. Freight forwarding partners Access Freight and Ideal Royal handled the shipments.
NAHCO, which has long been the preferred ground‑handling partner for Qatar Airways, extended its partnership for an additional three years.
The company also agreed to continue its five‑year partnership with Saudia Air.
NAHCO further extended its relationship with regional operator ASKY for another three years.
In addition, NAHCO signed a three‑year contract with FlyGabon, effective from October 2024 to September 2027.
FlyGabon’s entry into NAHCO’s portfolio aligns with the airline’s expansion into Nigeria, where it seeks to provide seamless connectivity across West, Central and Southern Africa.
These new agreements complement earlier contracts with Sky 7, Pioneer, Avia Green, Benani and the Aviation Clearing House.
The contracts come after NAHCO celebrated more than 40 years of uninterrupted service in the Nigerian aviation industry.
In January, the company announced additional agreements with global and domestic operators, including Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic, and renewed its contract with Rwand Air.
These developments underscore NAHCO’s continued leadership of ground‑handling services throughout the West African sub‑region.
Regarding the solar‑cell export, NAHCO is providing comprehensive cargo handling, including acceptance, build‑up, warehousing and export processing.
NAHCO also delivers full aircraft handling services, ensuring smooth ground operations and on‑time departures as more carriers join the growing business.
Prince Saheed Lasisi, Group Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at NAHCO, expressed pride in the company’s ability to secure long‑term trust from a diverse range of operators.
He said, “These contracts prove that NAHCO remains heads and shoulders above any other service provider in the industry.”
“We are fully prepared to exceed the expectations of these new partners, drawing on more than 47 years of unblemished service to maintain our reputation for excellence,” Lasisi added.
Group Managing Director/CEO Mr. Olumuyiwa Olumekun highlighted that the company’s focus remains on adding value for clients and shareholders.
Olumekun noted that continuous deployment of new technology ensures that NAHCO’s service delivery will improve, providing the high‑efficiency handling required for the precise operations of airlines.
“We remain committed to a strategy that prioritizes operational discipline and stakeholder happiness, ensuring that NAHCO continues to set the benchmark for safety and reliability in African aviation,” he said.
“The company continues to reinforce its dedication to the service of its partners and to aiding connectivity for travellers across Africa, providing total handling solutions to these varied international and local partners,” Olumekun added.
NAHCO is West Africa’s largest ground‑handling service provider, operating at all major Nigerian airports.
