To strengthen academic discipline, the Academic Board of Kogi State Polytechnic has withdrawn 229 students for poor academic performance.
This action followed the approval of the first‑semester results for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a statement released on Thursday by the acting coordinator of public relations and protocols, John Amos Onimisi, the decision was made during an academic board meeting chaired by Rector Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime on May 12, 2026.
The statement noted that senior officers—including principal officers, deans, heads of departments, and other academic board members—deliberated extensively on academic matters before granting final approval.
“The committee carefully scrutinised and authenticated the submissions from various departments and schools to ensure accuracy, fairness, and compliance with the Polytechnic’s academic regulations,” the statement read.
According to the statement, the committee’s report served as a critical guide in the board’s deliberations and final decisions on the results.
The rector praised the committee members for their diligence, commitment, and professionalism, adding that their efforts continued to strengthen the institution’s academic integrity and uphold educational standards.
