The Kano State Government has merged the Ministry of Water Resources with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, creating a single ministry to enhance governance efficiency.
The new entity will operate under the name Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change.
Commissioner Dahir M. Hashim confirmed the change in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Monday.
He said the decision was approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as part of broader government reforms aimed at strengthening service delivery.
“I am pleased to announce that His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the merger of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change into a single ministry, now known as the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change,” Hashim said.
