Former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ally of Senator Iyiola Omisore, Ismail Kolawole, who recently defected to the Accord Party, has pledged to strengthen the re‑election campaign of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Kolawole resigned from the APC citing political infidelity within the party.

He made the statement at the Accord Party’s general meeting held in Ila Local Government Area, where he was formally welcomed into the party.

As a grassroots mobilizer and former member of the House of Representatives representing Ila Federal Constituency, Kolawole said that, as a key figure in Omisore’s camp, he would leverage his influence in Ila LGA to secure Adeleke’s victory in the upcoming governorship election.

The meeting was his first official appearance since joining the party, and party leaders and members were present to receive him.

Kolawole also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Accord Party and pledged to mobilize extensively to ensure Governor Adeleke secures a second term.

He added that he would do everything within his capacity to support the governor’s re‑election and that all people under his watch would vote for Accord in the forthcoming governorship election and other elections.

He said, “I will show total dedication to the party and the governor’s success.”

Speaking on his defection, some party stakeholders described Kolawole’s move as a significant boost for the upcoming governorship election in Ila LGA and Osun State at large.

The stakeholders noted, “with a grassroots mobilizer of his calibre now with us, we are more confident of victory. We pray his coming will strengthen the Accord Party.”
