Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State presented the 2026–2028 Medium‑Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the state House of Assembly.
During an emergency session on Thursday morning, Speaker Martin Chike Amaewhule read a letter from Governor Fubara that confirmed the submission of the three‑year fiscal framework.
This session was the Assembly’s first plenary meeting in over three months; the previous one had reviewed commissioner nominees recommended by the governor.
Earlier, on January 8, the House convened to launch impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara, adjourned, and did not return on the planned resumption date of January 15.
After the Thursday plenary, legislators postponed the review of the Medium‑Term Expenditure Framework to a future session.
