Iran peace deal to be signed Sunday, opening Hormuz – Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a long‑awaited agreement to end the conflict in the Middle East is expected to be signed on Sunday, which would allow the strategic Strait of Hormuz to reopen.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account on Saturday.

Iran’s foreign ministry, however, said earlier that day that the deal would not be signed on Sunday, according to state media reports.

In the same post, Trump stated that the United States would take control of and destroy Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium.

“At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B‑2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States,” Trump said. “We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future.”

He also warned the Islamic Republic that it must fully implement the plan or face serious consequences.

“Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly,” the president wrote. “If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!”

Throughout the negotiations, Iran has insisted on its right to enrich uranium.
