Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State reiterated his administration’s pledge to back security agencies and enhance the welfare of troops stationed throughout the state in the fight against insecurity.
He made the statement on Thursday during the weekly State Security Council meeting held at the Government House in Gusau.
According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the meeting drew the heads of the state’s security agencies and centered on strategies to reinforce security presence in volatile regions.
The statement added that the governor assured security chiefs of his readiness to supply the necessary support to boost the effectiveness and well‑being of personnel involved in security operations.
“Governor Dauda Lawal chaired the weekly security council meeting with renewed commitment to bolstering support for the troops. He assured the heads of the security agencies of his readiness to take all necessary measures to safeguard the well‑being of troops operating in the state,” the statement said.
The meeting also examined ways to strengthen troop deployment and enhance rapid response to security emergencies throughout the state.
Lawal stressed that safeguarding the safety and security of Zamfara residents remains a top priority for his administration.
He further assured security agencies that his office would remain open for collaboration and support to tackle the state’s security challenges.
