Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje has denied the validity of the reported results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Gombe Central, stating that the figures being shared are not genuine.

The senator’s stance was communicated through a statement issued on Monday by his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, after rumors circulated that retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmadu had won the contest.

According to unofficial tallies released by the election’s returning officer, Dr. Habu Dahiru, Ahmadu allegedly received 42,785 votes, while Goje was reported to have secured 10,425 votes in the Gombe State exercise.

The disputed outcome has sparked reactions within the APC, with observers linking it to intensifying rivalries among party leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Goje emphasized that no formal announcement had been made by the party’s national leadership regarding the primary’s result.

In his statement, he urged residents of the Gombe Central Senatorial District to disregard what he called false and misleading election results.

The senator also reiterated that only the APC’s national leadership has the authority to officially declare the final outcome of the primary election.
