The G‑60 Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives staged a protest on Thursday, objecting to the House leadership’s failure to resolve the dispute over the Minority Leader position.

The protest followed the decision to block Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere from becoming the House’s Minority Leader.

According to DAILY POST, the House adopted a resolution on Wednesday that bars first‑time members from holding principal officer positions.

The resolution was poorly received by the G‑60, who entered the Green chamber during Thursday’s plenary session and demanded that the House leadership address the matter.

Members of the caucus said that the plenary will remain stalled unless the leadership resolves the crisis.

Reports indicate that the group, led by Ikenga Imo‑Ugochinyere, has rallied behind the representatives from the Sagbama‑Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State—Fred Agbedi as Minority Leader and Abdusammad Dasuki as deputy.
