Cucurella: I’ll handle Vinicius Jr’s dirty work at Real Madrid

Marc Cucurella, the new Real Madrid signing, has stated he would gladly take on the “dirty work” of defending alongside Vinicius Jr.

The Spaniard completed a €55 million transfer from Chelsea to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer.

A key question surrounding Cucurella’s arrival is how he will operate on the left side of the pitch with the Brazilian.

He has pledged to keep Vinicius fresh so he can focus on attacking duties.

Speaking to Marca, Cucurella said: “I think we’ll get along well. I don’t care if he doesn’t track back; I’ll do everything he doesn’t want to do.”

“As long as he’s decisive and fresh enough to score goals, I’ll do the dirty work. Vinicius has shown that he’s a key and influential player in Real Madrid’s Champions League campaigns.”
