CAF Interclub Competitions: Rangers, Rivers United, Shooting Stars Begin Quest September¹

Nigerian clubs Rangers, Rivers United and Shooting Stars will begin their respective continental campaigns in September, Completesports.com reports.

The Confederation of African Football announced the match schedule for the CAF Champions League, and CAF Confederation Cup on Thursday.

The 2026/27 season will kick-off with the first Preliminary Round on 4-6 September 2026 (first leg), followed by the return legs from 11-13 September 2026.

Second Preliminary Round is scheduled for 16-18 October 2026, with the decisive return fixtures taking place between 23-25 October 2026.

Group phase of both competitions will begin at the end of November.

The prize money of $6 million for the CAF Champions League winners and $4 million for the CAF Confederation Cup champions remains in place.

Rangers, and Rivers United will compete in the CAF Champions League, while Shooting Stars, and the President Federation Cup winners will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
