Bayern Munich have dealt Arsenal a significant setback in the summer transfer market by securing the services of Eintracht Frankfurt fullback Nathaniel Brown.

Bild’s Head of Football, Christian Falk, said the move is close to finalising, with the defender expected to join Vincent Kompany’s side for a fee of just under £56 million, bonuses included.

The Bundesliga champions outbid Arsenal to win the race for the promising 22‑year‑old, who has emerged as one of Germany’s brightest young talents.

Brown was named in Germany’s squad for the World Cup.
