Ballon d’Or 2026: James Rodríguez Predicts Current Top‑Five Player Will Win Award

Former Real Madrid star James Rodríguez has expressed support for Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz as a potential Ballon d’Or winner this year.

Rodríguez believes that Díaz could secure the individual award if Colombia reaches the final of the 2026 World Cup later this summer.

He also stated that the former Liverpool player is currently among the world’s top five footballers.

“Luis Díaz as Ballon d’Or, why not? For me, he is top 5 in the world right now already,” Rodríguez said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“If we get to the final, he can win the Ballon d’Or.”

Díaz has been impressive for Bayern Munich since joining the club from Liverpool, helping them win the Bundesliga title last season.
