Nnaemeka Clinton, founder of the Africa Technology Expo (AT), urged African businesses and governments to collaborate more closely, stating that deeper integration is essential to unlock the continent’s innovation and economic potential.
During his opening remarks at the Lagos event on Friday, Clinton explained that the expo was established to strengthen Africa’s enterprise ecosystem amid geopolitical shifts and global changes that increasingly hinder African access to opportunities.
He added that the organisers had examined the future of enterprise in Africa and the challenges posed by evolving political and innovation landscapes before launching this year’s edition.
“I just want to tell you why we do the work we do and how significant it is to the enterprise ecosystem,” he said.
According to him, the organisers questioned what the future of enterprise would look like amid shifting geopolitical realities affecting Africans across political, economic and innovation sectors.
“We understand the changing geopolitical landscape. Movement is changing for Africans on all levels. On the political landscape and innovation landscape, this has become a bit tighter for us as Africans,” he said.
He noted that the expo was created to promote stronger interaction across the continent by convening senior executives, emerging business leaders and multinational companies to foster partnerships and investment opportunities.
