Abakaliki FC retains 26 players for the 2026‑27 NNL season

Abakaliki FC has confirmed that it will retain 26 players for the upcoming 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

The club issued the announcement in a statement signed by its secretary, Barr. Chris Akukwe, following a management meeting.

The “De Rice Boys” are scheduled to return to training camp on 25 July 2026, the date that had previously been set for the season’s start.

New training sessions will begin on Monday, 27 July 2026.

Players are expected to report to camp in time for Abakaliki FC’s preparations for the NNL campaign.

The retained squad includes Elochukwu Paschal, Oma Joseph, Onuoha Promise, Alo Friday, Jude Aleke, and Izuchukwu Ogbodo.

Additional retained players are Uche Promise, Nwankpa Chinedu, Uche Amarachi, Hamzat Sheriff, Joseph Onwuzuruigbo, and Okeke Chinaza.

Korzer Modester, Udom Chikezie, Onwe Ebuka, Muftaudeen‑Abdulganiyu, Nwafor Chigozie, Augustus Dorbarilee, Ugochukwu Ujah, Okpali Chukwujekwu, and Micheal Oforkans also made the list.

Emeka Ugwu, Ifeanyi Ede, Ekuma Ndubuisi, and Kalu Collins complete the 26‑man roster.
