The Benue State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned aspirants and party stakeholders not to buy nomination forms from unauthorized sources, noting that the process has not yet begun.

In a statement released by Publicity Secretary Agile Ordedoo Bem, speaking on behalf of State Chairman Mr. Ohini Ojegbe, the party urged aspirants who had previously bought intent and expression of interest forms and taken part in the primary process to exercise patience.

The party clarified that only intent and expression of interest forms had been sold to date, and that nomination forms would be made available at the NDC State Secretariat after the official release of the successful candidates list.

The statement added that the state leadership has not authorized any person or group to sell nomination forms on its behalf, and it disassociates itself from any advertisements or sales occurring outside the party secretariat.

The NDC cautioned aspirants against using what it called “black market” channels for nomination forms, whether inside or outside Benue State.

The party also revealed that its national leadership was finalizing candidate documentation nationwide and would soon release the official list for public and media review.

While assuring members of a transparent process, the party expressed confidence in its prospects of winning a majority of elective positions in Benue State and nationwide in the upcoming elections.

The statement urged aspirants and stakeholders to wait for official communication from the party about when nomination form sales would begin and when candidates’ names would be released.
