The Zamfara Government has expressed deep sorrow following the death of three policemen who were killed while on duty.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that three officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the Zamfara Police Command lost their lives on Monday.

The officers were killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by bandit terrorists on the Anka‑Bagega road in Anka Local Government Area.

Secretary to the State Government Malam Abubakar Nakwada led a high‑level state delegation to the funeral prayers for the deceased.

The prayers, conducted by Inspector‑General of Police Olatunji Disu at the Police Command Headquarters in Gusau, followed Islamic rites.

In his address, the SSG conveyed the government’s and the people’s heartfelt condolences to the Inspector‑General, the Zamfara Police Command, the bereaved families, and the wider police community.

He prayed that Allah grant the fallen officers eternal rest and give their families the strength to endure their loss.

The SSG also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to continue supporting the families of the fallen heroes.

Nakwada reiterated the government’s determination to work with security agencies to eliminate banditry and all other forms of criminality in the state.

“This tragic incident will not deter us; it only strengthens our resolve. We will intensify our efforts, and victory is assured, In‑Sha‑Allah,” he said.
